Francesca Mantani Arkus directed "Frenesi" at Audart, a play performed by actress, Melanie Rey.  The play, subtitled "Sex Matters: A Play About Not Getting Any" was written by Melanie in collaboration with Francesca.  

Francesca Mantani Arkus has enjoyed an interesting career as a Director in numerous theaters in New York City, including The Access Theater at 380 Broadway, where she directed "Longing For Home + Pain = Nostalgia", a multi-sensory journey through "homesickness" in Chekhov's plays. This production brought Francesca together with two other Audart artists--Jean Taylor and John Toth.  

Francesca directed "The Flying Cloud" at The American Living Room Performance (Series 2), a play written and performed by Julia Ryan. In May of 2000, Francesca directed "Broken Tale of Mouse" an Amy Pivar Projects and Wings Theater production; and for the Turnip Theater Company's Featured Artist Series, Francesca directed "The Ithica String Quartet".  Francesca also directed "Almost Blue" by Keith Reddin, at the Actors Playground Theater Company, one of ten plays in the "10 Plays, 10 Weeks, 10 Directors, 10 Drinks" series.  

From February 12 through March 7, 2004, Francesda acted as Assistant Director of "The Time Of Your Life", a play by William Saroyan, at The Bagley Wright Theater.
