Sweaters of all styles
were extremely popular among women in the 1960's. Crewneck
sweaters
were worn over cotton shirts; turtlenecks were worn with bell-bottoms,
and
the boatneck was worn with everything. Fashion for women took many
interesting twists and turns in the 1960's, particularly during the
last five years of the decade when everything seemed to become simpler.
High heels gave way to
flats and high boots; nylon stockings to pantihose; shirtwaist dresses
to
the miniskirt and the new, simpler look included changes in the way
women styled their hair.
